Last night was the opening of the univerSALA exhibition at gallery Yampu. Many thanks to Kalyna and the Port Adelaide Artist Forum for all their hard work in hosting the exhibition. Karen Ashford a journalist with SBS and NITV officially opened the exhibition with a passionate speech about the challenges being an artist in the current climate and also the resilience of artists. Over 100 people attended, it was a full house! Thanks to many of our friends and family who were there with us we really appreciate all of your support.
Jill and I were kept busy for the whole night chatting to people about my work, it was the first outing for my 2 new pieces, the Hudson consul table and the De Ville chair. The interest was terrific, thanks very much I am very grateful. Early on into the night I received some great news with the Hudson table being sold, then the clocks and the chair. To sell all of my pieces and get wonderful feedback was the icing on the cake.
Over the next 2 days I will be blogging about both pieces with more info and pictures.
Cheers
